A very cool spring, followed by an unusually cold summer temperatures coupled with above average rainfall kept vineyard owners busy leading up to and during the growing season. With only 5 days recorded above 30 degrees through the summer months, 2012 was almost cool-climate conditions resulting in white wines with lower alcohols and great natural acidity.

The grapes were machine harvested at the beginning of February, and pressed gently with only the free run cut used. A cool ferment was used to ensure aromatic characters were retained. Post fermentation the wine was sulfured and racked off yeast lees, with a light fining of skim milk. The Verdelho was then heat and cold stabilised filtered and bottled under screw cap to retain freshness.

Pale yellow with green hues. Citrus lime and tropical fruits, with a hint of spice. Tropical fruit flavours of pineapple, paw paw and a hint of spice, with a crisp and dry finish. Enjoy now, with Asian dishes or try it with fresh figs wrapped in prosciutto.
