Mount View

As far as idyllic rural backdrops go, you cannot ask for much better than Mount View. Weaving its way past terraced vineyards, tasting rooms and charming B&Bs, Mount View Road takes you up to the Bimbadeen and Mount Bright Lookouts, with breaktaking views in every direction. It is off the beaten track, but the mountain-top lookout, peaceful setting and memorable wine experiences are worth seeking out.

Briar Ridge Vineyard

Nestled in the foothills of Mount View and surrounded by relaxing gardens, Briar Ridge provides the ultimate indulgence. With over 40 years of heritage as one of the Hunters leading producers, Briar Ridge is a must see destination whilst in Hunter Wine Country.

Not only does Briar Ridge give you some of the best wines on offer, but also a light alternative to dining in the Hunter Valley with a selection of cheese and antipasto plates available.

Mount View Estate

Mount View Estate was established in 1971. Over the last 40 years it has become of the the Hunter Valley’s most awarded wineries. Owning two of the oldest vineyards in the beautiful Mount View region of the Hunter Valley, all of Mount View’s wines are 100% estate grown and estate made in our own boutique winery.

Petersons Wines

Petersons is a family owned and operated winery, which has been growing wine for 37 years and making wines for 27 years. Nestled in the hills of Mount View in the Hunter Valley, our picturesque backdrop is stunning – and only a quick drive from the main areas of the Hunter.

Throughout our tradition, we have been renowned for making small parcels of exceptional quality wines, earning us the prestige of being 2001’s Champion Small Winery of Australia. Chardonnay may have put us on the map, but we have also become renowned for our superb sticky style desserts and our luscious full bodied reds.

We have been able to expand into the beautiful Mudgee region in order to produce full bodied reds from its milder climate, and also pioneered the cool climate New England region in Armidale. Despite our growing success, Petersons prides itself on tradition, family and friendly service.

Savannah Estate

Savannah Estate is a boutique winery owned by the renowned Peterson Family. Our wines are produced from select small parcels of premium fruit grown in renowned viticultural regions throughout Australia.

Our guests are welcome to sample our award winning wines, sourced from the Hunter Valley, and areas such as Mudgee (NSW), Rutherglen (VIC), Adelaide Hills (SA) and Langhorne Creek (SA).
Our small friendly team are happy to guide you through our impressive selection, and help you find some new favourites.

From Cessnock, it is just a few minutes drive to Savannah Estate, located at the foot of beautiful Mt View. Our winery is one of the most accessible in the Hunter, with lovely surrounds that teem with wildlife, including kangaroos and ducks. Savannah’s horses are usually grazing in the paddock next door as well, and love having their photo taken!

Tallavera Grove Vineyard

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Hunter Valley Wine Country, a small but distinct valley has been quietly producing some of the best fruit the Hunter Valley has to offer. With a discrete microclimate and seasonal changes different from the rest of the Valley, the alchemy of a little area known as Mount View has been blending its unique “terrior” of free draining clays over limestone substrate.

Tallavera Grove represents the culmination of decades of experience and research by Geologist Dr John Davis. It is one of four premium vineyards owned by the Davis family of Mount View, known as the Davis Premium Vineyards. The vineyard has been providing fruit for trophy winning wines for some of the Hunter’s most successful wineries for 20 years.

The Tallavera Grove cellar door at Mt View is the Hunter Valley home of the wines from select parcels of the Davis Premium Vineyards in Orange, NSW (Carillion Vineyard), Wrattonbully, South Australia (Stonefields Vineyard) and the base vineyard at Mount View, Hunter Valley. Since opening we have attained a 5 star rating with the Australian Wine Companion and been recognised with numerous trophies and medals at wine shows all around the country.

In October 2008, legendary Hunter Valley chef Robert Molines moved up to Tallavera Grove to open his latest restaurant “Bistro Molines”. The restaurant’s dedication to quality has seen them recognised with a Chefs Hat in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 4 years running. Robert, his wife Sally and their tight knit team have also made that special day even more special for hundreds of groups and couples in co-ordinating and catering for all weddings and functions held at Tallavera Grove.

It is a simple recipe for a great Hunter Wine and Food experience: 5 Star rated Vineyard with select wines from estate vineyards in 3 top viticultural regions, a Chef’s Hatted Restaurant and one of the best vineyard outlooks available.

We look forward to welcoming you to our enchanting cellar door sometime soon.
