Hunter Valley Magazine is produced by Hunter Valley Wine Tourism Association. The digital version of the Magazine is provided here as a service to our visitors online and as a magazine to our guests at The Vintry.

Welcome to the new-look Hunter Valley Magazine. One of the exciting additions is that we will now be running stories from passionate Hunter Valley visitors who are eager to share their recommendations, photos and tips. So if you’re visiting Wine Country for the first or 50th time and you have a blast of enthusiasm for a place or product, let us know! Of course, nobody knows the Hunter Valley as well as the locals, so their stories and experiences will continue to be the main focus of the editorial, with feature stories written by leading wine, food and travel writers.

In this issue, we showcase some of the region’s highlights, including a few exotic red varieties you may be unaware of in the Hunter Valley. We make wining and dining easy with food and wine matching tips and take a behind-the-scenes look at life as a winemaker. In this issue, we sing the praises of Hunter Valley Shiraz, which is the perfect partner for a prime piece of Australian beef, so we’ve outlined the main breeds of cattle providing beef in the Hunter Valley and asked chefs for their best beef dishes. You can also discover 10 alternative wine varieties, read about one of the best vintages in the Hunter Valley, and take a behind-the-scenes look at life as an alpaca farmer.
