Chilli and Garlic Festival

Some like it hot – some like it spicy – some like it sweet – but every lover of fine food will adore the inaugural Hunter Valley Garlic and Chilli Festival.

On the Sunday 25th January, Handmade in the Hunter Markets and Kevin Sobel Wines will host three local fresh garlic growers – Pokolbin Purple, Moore Wollombi Garlic and Macquariedale Organic Farm, as well as being joined by local producers of garlic and chilli products.

So if you like your garlic and chilli fresh, smoked, pickled, jerky-ed, dried, sauced, sausaged, jammed, condimented, chocolated, raw tastings, bake in breads, on pizzas or in delicious home style Lebanese cooking your tastebuds will be delighted.

The Hunter Valley Chill and Garlic Festival is presented by Handmade in the Hunter Markets – where you will discover the variety and quality of goods grown, made and crafted by Hunter Valley artisans.

Held in the picturesque gardens of award-winning Kevin Sobels Wines in Pokolbin, the markets allow the authenticity of handmade produce and wares, and the talent of Hunter Valley artisans to shine.

As a meet-the-maker market, you will meet and talk with the grower, maker or artist behind each of the expertly-crafted and truly unique “Handmade in the Hunter” creations.

When you visit Handmade in the Hunter Markets, you will see why they have the distinction of being the longest-running, genuine, handmade market in the vineyard area. In fact, many customers plan their visits to the Hunter Valley around the market schedule.

Conveniently located near the four major concert venues (Hope Estate, Tyrrells, Bimbadgen, Tempus Two), numerous fine wineries, restaurants and Hunter Valley Gardens, Handmade in the Hunter Markets are held to coincide with concert dates and other major vineyard events.

Markets are held at least twice a month so check our market dates.

Come along to see, taste, try, buy and marvel for yourself at what the vibrant Hunter Valley artistic and creative community has to offer.
