Just two hours north of Sydney, the Vintry is nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley, surrounded by extensive vineyards and beautiful bushland. The country house was the winner in the Deluxe Accommodation category at the 2009 NSW Tourism Awards.

The Vintry is the perfect place to meet with others in a relaxed environment. The house is ideally designed for four couples, and each bedroom has its own en suite. It’s the perfect recipe for a relaxing and secluded weekend away with friends.

The Vintry at Pokolbin up for national tourism award

The Advertiser 24 Feb, 2010 09:27 AM

The Vintry Country House and Vineyard in De Beyers Road, Pokolbin is one of four Hunter operators who will compete in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Hobart on Friday night.

The Vintry, which offers boutique, luxury, self contained accommodation for up to eight people is a finalist in the Deluxe Accommodation category.

Hosted by the National Tourism Alliance (NTA) and presented by Qantas, Tourism Australia and Tourism Tasmania, the national awards are the industry’s biggest and most prestigious event of the year.

Finalists from every state and territory will compete in 27 categories to receive one of these prestigious awards.

Other Hunter finalists are Newcastle Airport (Specialised Tourism Services’ category), Moonshadow Cruises (Major Tour and Transport Operators) and Crowne Plaza Newcastle (Meetings and Business Tourism).

Hunter Regional Tourism Organisation CEO, Sheridan Ferrier, said: “We are so proud to have four of our local operators recognised at a national level.”

“The Hunter is a continuously growing tourism industry. It is an exceptional destination which has increasing international awareness and has a remarkable array of tourism products. To have reached this level is in an achievement in itself and each operator should be very proud of their efforts,” Ms. Ferrier said.
